There’s always a time when your child has asked you to keep a puppy, and you have thought of the extra chores you have to perform and finances you have to spend and probably said no to it.

But think again because today I will be giving you 5 Reasons why your child should grow up with a pet.

1. Improved Confidence of your Child

Pets help to break the ice and encourage children to talk and involve in activities that they would typically don’t. Your child can feel less anxious with a pet, and it could help him build up confidence and shape his personality.

Pets can also help kids make friends as they have a topic to talk about with others.

A study was done in a middle school in the USA where children were asked to read an article before a peer, an adult and a dog. Their stress levels were noted.

The results showed that the stress levels were lowest when the article was read in front of a dog.

This shows that children feel happy, confident and less stressed with a pet.

2. They Develop a Sense of Responsibility

Looking after a pet is much more work than unloading the dishes from the dishwasher.

When your child takes his dog to a walk, feed him, bath him, He develops a sense of compassion towards his dog, and this makes him well mannered and sincere towards everything in life.

Pets provide your children something to care for and love, so a sense of gratitude is developed in them.

That’s why they say — “A Dog is a Man’s Best Freind”

3. Improved Family Bonding

When 456 people were asked, that is your pet really a member of your family, 99% of them said, “of course it is”.

This shows that how much a pet means to a family. To care for a pet, the whole family collaborates and care for him. It is an excellent centre of attraction for everyone to spend some quality family time which is non-existent in the modern world.

Only seeing a cat catch his ball or notice for a mouse is relaxing and a stress-buster in this busy world, and it makes a moment to talk about with fellow family members.

4. Pets Make Kids HEALTHIER

A study shows children having pets around them in their first year makes them less prone to diseases that are common in their age.

It shows they have a low risk of getting infected as an infant if a pet surrounds them in the first year of their life.

Also, they were found to be healthier than the children of their age, and if they somehow get infected, then they recovered with less dosage of antibiotics than others.

It leads to the fact that if we have pets around children in the first year of their life, it leads to the maturation of their immune system, which leaves them with less chance of being infected.

5. More PlayTime

We all know that children engage in physical activities more often If they have someone around them.

A Study shows that children that have pets around them spend almost 30 mins more time engaged in physical activity than their peers.

It may seem insignificant, but it adds up to 3.5 hours a week and 14 hours a month.

The more time they spend off their screens will make them less prone to eye problems and simultaneously make them stronger physically and mentally as physical activity promotes mental growth, especially in toddlers and teenagers.

It also helps to fight the modern-day problem of obesity as they are more physically engaged than before.
